The 2012 project aims at promoting new Environmental Management content learning, language learning and the development of lower-order and higher-order thinking by engaging the students in producing online graphic organizers to display their interpretations and in delivering oral presentations, which aims at helping them articulate their own learning.
The lessons were delivered with Edmodo, a free, secure social networking site for schools, and each learner worked with his/her own network. This allowed them to schedule their work, their assignments, their readings and to engage in enriching speaking and writine experiences. Learners had the opportunity to collaborate and work towards specific goals together in small groups and above all use the English language to understand and produce key concepts of the subject. Parents were also engaged in learning about their children’s work and progress.
